ABOUT USLet us introduce

Welcome to our Leap into Dance Program. We are excited to have you with us.

The Leap into Dance program is provided by Creative Learning Centre – an NDIS registered provider for Innovative Community Participation and Therapeutic Supports.

Leap into Dance is an inclusive dance program. Our dance classes for children, teens and adults are delivered in an accessible way by a team of passionate dance and disability professionals, from within Dancescape Studios at 37 Parer Road, Airport West, in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

We asked our students what they thought of the dance classes and from there our motto and name was created, Leap into Dance – Be Amazing!

As you navigate you will find information about our team, our program, our history, our classes, enrolments, fees and contact info.

Lee is Director of Creative Learning Centre and the Leap into Dance Program and Senior Occupational Therapist.

Lee began teaching Creative Ballet and piano in her early teens and running a theatre group when she was 18. She went on to work as an Occupational Therapist in Supported Employment, an Assessment Centre, Schools and Private Practice. Throughout her working life she has continued to run dance classes and more recently drama classes.  In 2020, Lee completed the Dance Teaching Skill Set through Ausdance Victoria.

Lee supervises the program and works closely with Georgina and Dani to develop tools and resources to ensure participants are getting the most from the program. Lee completes reports based on goal review meetings that are done twice a year. You can speak to Lee about NDIS and your plan.

Georgina is a freelance contemporary dance artist with a Bachelors Degree in Performing and Screen Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance. She is also certified Pilates Instructor, in mat, reformer, pre/post natal and is currently studying online a Certificate 3 in Fitness. As well as teaching our contemporary-jazz and ballet classes, Georgina organises student enrolments, maintains the social media, admin tasks and produces our newsletters.

Georgina started dancing at 5 in ballet and later in Jazz, Contemporary and Flamenco. Contemporary quickly took the lead and lead her to full time training and her carer pathway. While in Melbourne she has worked with Tim Podesta, YellowWheel and YW2 and is currently working professionally with Liquid Skin Dance Theatre and is associated with Savage Productions.

Georgina began teaching with Creative Learning Centre in 2018 and helped Lee and Dani progress the classes to the Leap into Dance Program it is today.

She has worked with Lee to create the 1:1 Function First program for participants who want to further develop skills. This program utilises Pilates and fitness movement to develop the skills to create the correct movement pathways in the body, allowing for a stronger and more co-ordinated participant. Watch this space as we add more information about this program. Function First is not dance and you do not need to be enrolled with Leap into Dance to do Function First. Head to our contacts page and reach out for more info!

You will find Dani in our classes with Georgina. Dani has a Cert IV in Disability and is also a certified Yoga Teacher with dance background in Theatrical, Jazz and Tap dance.  Dani completes goal notes and assists students individually throughout the year.
